Are Phototoxic Oils Dangerous?

We hear phototoxic and think of an uncomfortable feeling like a bad sunburn.

What you might not know is that it can actually damage and discolor your skin. It is a serious and painful condition that you want to avoid.

So how can you continue to use your favorite oils that may also be #phototoxic?

1. Keep your oils from oxidizing by keeping the cap on tight and keeping them in a cool, dark place

2. Use citrus oils such as Bergamot in a place on your skin that will be covered by clothing

3. Avoid spending extended time in sunlight and UV light after applying oils (no more than a few minutes)

4. Diffuse or inhale these oils instead of using them on your skin.
